Nineteen springs of my life had passed when a dream of mine came to be true for the first time, and I embraced a guitar. After that, hours & days I spent my time practicing and making love with the guitar, until I could hear melodious sounds of this magic instrument.
About two years passed when I managed to cooperate with one of the Pop music groups. On those days Pop music had just restarted its activities after Islamic Revolution. Those days’ pleasant memories will always be part of my diaries. One of the most beautiful memories is the presence of Babak Bayat, the great musician, in one of my performances in the performance hall. Playing guitar at the presence of Iran’s Pop music definite master, Babak Bayat, had created an unforgettable atmosphere that night.
After that I tried to increase my knowledge about guitar, so I enjoyed the great master Toraj Farshidi’s six month course. I learned a lot about theory & harmonic scales and diatonic modes from him. Meanwhile I finished my studies at the university and graduated in the field of industrial engineering. I completed my military service as all young Iranians who have to pass this stage. This was a period in which I missed my guitar, but after this period I decided to continue music more seriously. I attended Poor Hoseini’s, the master, classes. He is graduated in the field of singing from Germany. He opened a new window to the world for me the result of which was my further effort to learn music theory, harmony and academic experience in music.
This road was paved by God’s grace & my family’s support, so I got the chance to take part in Armenia Governmental Conservator which was a very valuable experience. I managed to get the specialized license in the field of guitar from this Conservator after one year and a half. The world evolved and I found myself in the southern region of Forever Persian Gulf, so I had another experience in Dubai. Presence among the Iranians living abroad and night performances in Iranian restaurants and coffee shops, which were sincere & friendly, was a turning point for me to be acquainted with one of the TV producers who gave positive response to my request regarding having a special program about music.
The title of the program was “metronome” which talked about history, different schools, and styles of music. To prepare the materials for such a program and its performance was another experience of another kind. This program was broadcast from world network PDF for one month in 2008. The broadcast parts were about classic music history. Another part of the program which was about music in ancient Iran was not broadcast for some reasons, but a short part of this program is available on the site. Finally I decided to come back to Iran to continue my path of art because the roots, memories, loves, and hopes all and all are here.
